Obi Onyejekwe has worked in the creative industry since 2001. Obi'scareer began as a Motion Designer at Turner Broadcasting. Obi then moved on to Primal Screen as a Senior Motion Designer before joining Spike TV as a Broadcast Art Director and Producer. After this, Obi worked at Gilt Groupe as Creative Director and Web Design Manager, where they built and managed the Web Design Department and created an e-commerce site that became the #1 luxury shopping destination in the US. Obi then moved on to Dentsu America as an Interactive Creative Director, spearheading multi-million-dollar accounts. After this, Obi joined BET (BET Networks, a subsidiary of Viacom Inc.) as a Senior Broadcast Art Director, restructuring the design team, researching and hiring broadcast and production specialists, and guiding writing and production staff in a major re-brand of the network. Obi then worked at Nickelodeon as a Freelance Creative Director, conceptualizing, designing, and directing multimedia and advertising campaigns. In 2013, Obi founded Nito Inc., assembling a team of the most qualified programmers in the motion capture and facial recognition field and leading to a $925K seed investment. Obi then founded Pixel Pirate Studio LLC in 2011, improving client relations, workflow, and overall management of the production studio. Finally, in 2016, Obi built and developed UNOMI Inc., a software company dedicated to reducing the production time and budget of the animation process by 30% to 75%.
Obi Onyejekwe attended Georgia State University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. In 2013, they participated in the Startup Leadership Program, where they were awarded a Startup Founder degree.
