Amir Omeragic has a diverse work experience in the field of international organizations. Amir started their career in 2003 at UNHCR as a Programme Officer, where they worked until 2005. During this time, they also served as a Consultant in the Programme department. In 2005, they joined UNMACA as a Programme Officer and later became a Senior Programme Officer. In 2009, they moved to UNOPS and held several positions including Senior Portfolio Manager and Deputy Chief of the Mine Action Cluster. From 2015 to 2017, they served as the Deputy Director (Programme) in the Peace and Security Cluster. Since 2017, they have held the position of Director of the Peace and Security Cluster at UNOPS.
Amir Omeragic holds a Master's degree in Development Economics and International Development from the Università degli Studi di Torino, which they obtained from 2011 to 2012. Amir also has a Bachelor of Economics degree in Business Process Management from the University of Tuzla, Faculty of Economics.
