Simon O'Brien

Simon O'Brien is the founder of The Investigations Academy and serves as a Director at Simon O’Brien Consulting Limited, where they work internationally to enhance security and policing. Previously, they held significant roles such as Chief Officer of Police in the Metropolitan Police, overseeing 10,000 staff and a budget of over £450 million, and the Police Ombudsman for the Republic of Ireland. Simon also served as Deputy to the Chief Inspector of Policing for the Irish State and has extensive experience in fragile and conflict zones, including Iraq, Nigeria, and Nepal. Educated at the University of Cambridge, Simon has combined their operational expertise with a commitment to making people and places safer through training and consultancy for law enforcement agencies.
