Simonetta Siligato serves as the Director and Senior Advisor in the Office of the Regional Director for UNOPS in the Asia Region since January 2015, following a role as Program Manager supporting social infrastructure development in Sri Lanka. Prior to that, Simonetta held positions including Regional Coordinator for integrated water management in Small Island Developing States, Policy Advisor to the Afghan Ministry of Finance on energy supply, and Program Manager for environmental projects in Afghanistan. Additional experience includes serving as Technical Advisor with GIZ, Managing Partner at Blattfisch Consultants, Researcher at the University of Hohenheim, and Freelance Consultant specializing in freshwater and fisheries management. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Universitaet Hohenheim and an MSc in Zoology and Applied Ecology from the University of Vienna.
