Brand Lead at unspun

Annika Visser has held a variety of roles in the fashion and apparel industry since 2010. Annika began their career as a Sales Assistant at sissy-boy in 2010, followed by an Intern and Senior Production Coordinator at Crucial Trade 51 in 2014. In 2017, they became an Account Manager at Ragtrade Ltd. and then moved to unspun in 2019, where they held roles as Brand Lead, Operations Lead and Sustainability, and Mission Operations Specialist. During their time at unspun, Annika was responsible for leading PR, brand-marketing, social media and content strategies, as well as internal sustainability initiatives, resulting in B-corp certification, Ellen MacArthur Jeans redesign program membership and a “Great” brand rating on Good on You. Annika also drove sustainable sourcing initiatives, resulting in a 18% decrease in carbon intensity in unspun’s products.

Annika Visser has a diverse educational background. Annika attended Tygerberg Highschool from 2006 to 2010. Annika then went on to obtain a Computer Aided Draughting and Design certification from Isett Seta in November 2011, followed by an AutoCAD 2012 Certified Associate certification from AutoCAD in October 2011. Annika also obtained an ND Clothing Management certification from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. From 2011 to 2014, Annika attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where they earned a Higher National Diploma in Fashion Merchandising. In 2018, they completed a Certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge.
