Janet Kennedy has a long and successful career in sales, marketing, and brand development. Janet began their career in 1987 as an AVP Marketing and Program Manager for the Property and Casualty Division at CIGNA. In this role, they provided marketing expertise to launch a new customer segment strategy and quickly identified a trade association endorsement opportunity that ignited lead generation. This resulted in double-digit gains in lead generation and Corporate Member of the Year recognition from the trade group. Janet then moved to Aetna in 1995 as an AVP Head of National Accounts Marketing and Brand Communications. In this role, they managed brand, messaging and creative development for multiple product lines and directed the development of all collateral for print, web, and RFP platforms. Janet also led division-wide research and strategy initiatives, particularly in the area of B2C marketing. In 2010, they joined Leadership Greater Hartford as an Encore! Hartford Fellow and Program Brand Developer. During this time, they developed highly successful income expansion plans for a signature community leadership development program and a Consulting and Training business. This resulted in the community leadership program achieving full subscription and 10% growth the following program year, as well as the Consulting and Training business growing by 58% over the next five years. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at Productive Benefits LLC as a Marketing Executive and Business Development. In this role, they identified and evaluated opportunities for strategic partnership, business development, and financing for a start-up Long Term Care and Long Term Care Insurance consulting business. Janet then moved to Untapped Potential Inc. in 2020 as a Sales and Marketing Specialist. In this role, they pursued skill-up opportunities and professional networking and engaged in industry mentor exchanges, serving peers in a community capacity.

Janet Kennedy holds an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School and a B.S. in Resource Economics and Community Development from the University of New Hampshire. In 2021, they obtained certifications in Learning Salesforce and Social Selling with Salesforce from LinkedIn. Janet also obtained a Senior Living Management certification from Cornell University in 2021 and an Encore!Hartford Fellowship in Non-Profit Leadership from the University of Connecticut in 2010.
