Helmut Schoenenberger co-founded and served as CEO of the UnternehmerTUM Center for Innovation and Business Creation in 2002. Helmut later became a Member of the Supervisory Board at Deutschen Energie-Agentur (DENA) in 2017. In 2011, they became the Managing Director of UVC Partners and in 2014, they co-founded and served as Managing Director of UnternehmerTUM MakerSpace GmbH. Currently, since 2020, Helmut Schoenenberger is the TUM Vice President Entrepreneurship at Technische Universität München.

Helmut Schoenenberger earned their Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart. Helmut then pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur) from the Technical University of Munich, completing their studies in 2000. Following this, they conducted research as a Researcher at UC Irvine in the field of Aerospace Engineering for a year. Helmut later earned their Doctorate (Dr.) from the Technical University of Munich's TUM School of Management in 2005. Helmut now holds the position of Honorarprofessor at the same institution, specializing in Entrepreneurship Practice.
