Johanna Thoma

Johanna Thoma is an experienced professional in talent development, currently serving as AVP of Skills & Talent Development at Unum since December 2004. In this role, Johanna leads the execution of Unum's talent development strategy, focusing on attracting and retaining top talent and providing career development resources. Previously, Johanna held positions including Director of Learning and Development - Curriculum Curation, where responsibilities included enhancing learning programs for employee development. Additional experience includes roles as Director of Learning, Lead Learning Consultant, Training Consultant, and Disability Benefit Specialist. Prior to Unum, Johanna worked as an ESL Instructor at Portland Adult Education and Exit For Success. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Latin America Studies from William & Mary.
