Marla Hummel

Marla Hummel, CPA, currently serves as the AVP of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting at Unum, a position held since August 2019, after progressing through the roles of Director and Manager in Financial Analysis. Prior to joining Unum, Marla accumulated significant experience at Grant Thornton LLP from October 2011 to August 2019, where responsibilities included Audit Manager and Senior Audit Associate. Marla's early career began at the South Carolina House of Representatives as a Page for the Accounting and Benefits Office from October 2007 to October 2011. Educationally, Marla holds a Master of Accountancy (MACC) from the University of South Carolina, completed in 2011, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business, earned in 2010.
