Matt Monaghan

Matt Monaghan serves as the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Unum Group, where responsibilities include managing various legal functions such as Legal Operations, Government Affairs, Product Compliance, and Investment Law. With an extensive legal career at Unum since July 1999, Matt has held several senior roles, including SVP of Corporate & Regulatory Law and General Counsel for Closed Block, where leadership encompassed multiple practice areas and significant corporate compliance matters. Prior to Unum, Matt practiced as a Partner at Monaghan Leahy LLP, specializing in insurance defense and litigation. Educational credentials include a B.A. in English and Government & Legal Studies from Bowdoin College and a J.D. from Lewis & Clark College.
