Thea Burke Dnp

Thea Burke, DNP, RN, NE-BC, currently serves as the Interim Chief Nurse Executive at UofL Health, beginning in June 2025. Previously, Thea held the position of Enterprise Director of Nursing Operations at Jefferson Health, a 32-hospital system. Significant experience includes senior leadership roles at Tower Health, managing nursing operations, patient care services, and emergency departments across multiple facilities. Thea directed clinical operations for cardiology and pulmonary medicine with substantial financial oversight and led the busiest emergency department in Pennsylvania. Additional experience includes serving as a Nurse Manager at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and various leadership positions during a decade at GSK. Thea's military background includes serving as an Army Officer, providing medical care and leading training at prominent military health facilities. Thea's educational achievements include a Doctorate of Nursing in Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University and an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania.
