Stephanie Villegas has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Stephanie began their career as a Accounting and Office Manager at Gosney & Sons, Inc from 1993 to 2002. Stephanie then worked as a Bookkeeper at Les Pfenning Homes, Inc from 2002 to 2004. Following this, they joined Blanding Dirtwork as a Bookkeeper from 2004 to 2007. Finally, they worked at Up with People where they held the roles of Director of Finance and Finance & Development Director starting from 2007. In these positions, they were responsible for various accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and budget management.

Stephanie Villegas attended Front Range Community College from 2002 to 2005, where they completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Accounting. During the same period, they also earned another AAS degree from the same college, this time in Business Technologies. Prior to this, from 1989 to 1990, Stephanie attended the University of Colorado Denver, where they completed General Education Requirements, although they did not earn a degree during this time.

Up with People empowers youth to become lifelong changemakers as part of a global community working to advance inclusivity, sustainability, and human rights. Through our unique exchange programs, youth come together to engage with world issues, discover their creative capacity, and develop the skills to step into their place as global citizens. Since 1965: · 22,000 participants from 138 countries · 14,000 visits to communities in 72 countries · 3 million volunteer service hours · 800,000 host families · 300,000 youth engaged in the last 5 years Intentional community, creativity & the arts, and determined optimism are at the heart of UWP. Young people can do incredible things when we act together, get creative, and remain unapologetically hopeful. These elements set UWP apart in the crowded field of Positive Youth Development. They permeate everything we do. Since pausing our programs in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been reflecting, reimagining, and designing Up with People for the future. We’ll be back soon with exciting new programs as we continue to work towards our vision of an inclusive and sustainable world where people are equal in dignity and rights.
