Sean Wiid

Sean Wiid has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Sean is currently the CEO of UP42, a position they have held since July 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Product Officer at UP42 from February 2019 to July 2020.

Before joining UP42, Sean worked at Navico as the Senior Vice President of Platform and Content from July 2018 to December 2018. Sean also held the same position at C-MAP from March 2018 to June 2018. Additionally, they were the Vice President of Operations at C-MAP from August 2017 to March 2018.

Sean has also worked at HERE Technologies as the Director of Strategy, Business Planning, and Operations from March 2015 to July 2017. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Business Planning and Operations, Enterprise from October 2013 to March 2015, and as a Senior Manager of Platform Business Planning and Operations from August 2012 to October 2013.

Earlier in their career, Sean was a Program Manager for Maps and Location Services at Nokia from January 2011 to August 2012. Sean also pursued a Full-time MBA at ESMT from January 2010 to January 2011.

Furthermore, Sean worked as a Freelance Consultant at MozInformatics from 2007 to 2009. Sean was a Senior Solutions Architect at GDC / Pitney Bowes MapInfo from 2005 to 2007, and a Software Developer / Consultant at Spatial Dimension from 2000 to 2005.

Sean Wiid obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from ESMT Berlin in 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Geomatics from the University of Cape Town from 2001 to 2005. Sean also holds a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics degree from the University of Cape Town, which they received from 1997 to 2000, with a focus on Geomatics and Computer Science.
