Branden Rolston's work experience begins in 2004 as a Student Worker at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they diagnosed and serviced malfunctioning computer hardware and assembled networks. In 2006, they worked as a Student Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they wrote and optimized SQL queries and set up a documentation wiki. In the same year, they also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Prairie Interactive Messaging, where they selected and deployed an open-source monitoring system.

In 2007, Branden joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a Technical Intern, constructing a simulated internet testbed and writing a configuration tool. At the University of Nebraska, they worked as a Web Developer, redesigning a department website and writing extensions for Plone. In 2008, Branden returned to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a Research Scientist II and Software Engineer, working on various projects including writing controller software and designing a prototype network monitoring system.

From 2010 to 2013, Branden worked as a Software Engineer at TripIt, and from 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Software Engineer at Disqus. In 2015, Branden joined D2iQ as a Software Engineer and worked there until 2022. Finally, in 2022, Branden joined Upbound as a Software Engineer.

Branden Rolston attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a degree in Computer Science.
