Alex Bush

Alex Bush has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Alex is currently working at UpKeep as an Engineering Team Lead since August 2022. Prior to that, they were a Sr iOS Developer at UpKeep from January 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining UpKeep, Alex worked at PCS Software Inc as a Mobile Engineering Manager from June 2020 to December 2020. Alex also served as a Senior Software Engineer at Wayfair from July 2019 to February 2020.

Alex's previous experience includes working at Uber as a Software Consultant (iOS) from February 2018 to May 2019, and at ThoughtWorks as a Senior Mobile Consultant from July 2017 to February 2018, where they worked with clients such as Delta Airlines on iOS software projects, using industry best practices.

Before that, Alex was a Software Engineer at Wanelo from June 2016 to June 2017. Alex also founded Smart Cloud, Inc in August 2013, where they held the roles of Advisor from November 2015 to May 2017, and Co Founder, CTO, Software Product Manager from August 2013 to November 2015. At Smart Cloud, they gained experience in architecting software and integrating client/server apps.

Alex has also worked at Journy as a Lead iOS Engineer from November 2015 to June 2016, where they were responsible for building the core iOS product and Rails JSON API.

Prior to that, Alex worked as a Software Consultant as a self-employed professional from January 2011 to August 2013. In this role, they helped clients build software products, leading teams and working directly with stakeholders.

Additionally, at the beginning of their career, Alex volunteered as a developer at RubyNuby meetup classes in New York University, where they assisted in teaching Ruby and Ruby on Rails to students from September 2010 to January 2011.

Alex Bush completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Siberian State Technological University from 2006 to 2010. In November 2020, they obtained certification as a Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc.
