Joe Zavaglia is an experienced professional in the paper and coatings industry, currently serving as the PD&I Manager of Silicone & Release Liner Development at UPM Raflatac since September 2007. In this role, Joe oversees a department of 50 employees and manages operations across two high-speed coating lines, as well as chemical mixing and raw material receiving. Prior to UPM Raflatac, Joe worked as a Superintendent for a 400 TPD fine paper machine at Blue Ridge Paper Products from 1999 to 2007, and as Technical Support Manager at Calgon Corporation from 1991 to 1999, where expertise in polymer applications for the pulp and paper industries was provided. Earlier experience also includes working as a Process Engineer for Champion International. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and a Master of Science in Engineering from the Institute of Paper Chemistry.
