Heli Viiri

Heli Viiri is a seasoned professional in forest health and management, currently serving as the Business Process Development Manager at UPM since August 2019. In addition to this role, Heli Viiri has held the position of Docent of Forest Health and Damage at the University of Eastern Finland since 2011, focusing on teaching and supervising PhD students. Previous experience includes serving as Group Manager and Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Institute Finland from 2015 to 2019, and as Regional Director at the Finnish Forest Centre, managing a team of approximately 60 employees. Furthermore, Heli Viiri contributed to research on pest control at the Finnish Forest Research Institute from 2004 to 2013, and has held various academic roles, including Professor at the University of Eastern Finland. Heli Viiri's educational background includes an Executive MBA focused on organizational development and management from the University of Jyväskylä, and a Doctorate in Forest Protection from the University of Eastern Finland.
