Janak Sapkota

Janak Sapkota is a seasoned professional in the fields of polymer science, materials engineering, and additive manufacturing, currently serving as Senior Manager of R&D and Technology at UPM - The Biofore Company since April 2018. Previous positions include Research Manager roles focusing on strategy, business development, and pulp research, as well as a Visiting Scientist at the Research Centre For Applied Science And Technology at Tribhuvan University. Prior experience also includes postdoctoral research at the University of Leoben, where Janak led projects on polymer composites and secured funding from The Austrian Research Promotion Agency, and research at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, where innovative processing techniques for polymer composites were developed. Janak's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Materials Engineering from Université de Fribourg and an MBA in International Business Management from LAB University of Applied Sciences.
