Karen Wastler

Karen Wastler, DNAP, FACHE, currently serves as Vice President of Operations for the UPMC North Central Pennsylvania Region since December 2022, contributing to executive operational management and leadership within the UPMC Health Services Division. Prior to this role, Wastler held the position of System Vice President for Surgical Services at Main Line Health, overseeing a surgical portfolio involving approximately 45,000 annual visits across multiple facilities. Wastler's experience also includes significant leadership roles at Inova Health System, where responsibilities extended to surgical, ambulatory, and support services operations, as well as a tenure as Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Valley Health. Wastler's academic credentials include a Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from VCU, alongside multiple degrees in anesthesia, nursing administration, and clinical nursing from esteemed institutions.
