Brendan Whelan

Brendan Whelan has over 12 years of experience in the energy and environmental sectors. Brendan began their career in 2009 as a Project Analyst at ERM: Environmental Resources Management, where they were later promoted to Client Account Manager. In 2011, they joined Total Gas & Power Ltd as a Gas and Power Operator and Carbon Portfolio Analyst. In 2014, they moved to Energeia as a Senior Energy Analyst. In 2016, they joined AGL Australia as a Principal Product Manager, Product Manager, and Principal Analyst. Most recently, in 2022 they joined UPowr as Head of Product - Energy.

Brendan Whelan has a diverse educational background, beginning with a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Cape Town in 2006, followed by a Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Economics from the same institution in 2007. In 2008, they earned a Certificate in Renewable Energy Policy and Finance from Stellenbosch University and a Master of Science in Carbon Management from The University of Edinburgh. In 2014, they completed a Certificate in National Electricity Market (NEM) Overview from the Australian Energy Market Operator.
