Mary Sampeer

Mary Sampeer has worked in the finance and accounting industry since 1998. Mary began their career as an Accountant Intern at IPG, where they assisted the General Ledger team with daily activities and the Accounts Payable team with daily activities. Mary also helped with the preparation of 5-year restated financial statements. In 1999, they became a Financial Analyst at SPX Corporation, where they prepared monthly financial reports for clients, provided billing, accounts payable services, and financing services, and performed customer service duties. From 2000 to 2017, they worked at Barton Malow Company, where they served as Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Functional Team Lead - Corporate Finance, Functional Team Lead - SAP Implementation, and Field Accounting Supervisor. In their roles, they analyzed project financial data, prepared variance analyses, financial models, and ad hoc reports; supervised accounting specialists; prepared account reconciliations and audit schedules; gathered, reviewed, and documented business processes and requirements; and maintained budget, forecast, cost, billings reconciliation, and cash flow statement for construction projects. In 2017, Mary Sampeer began working as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO).

Mary Sampeer attended Ishpeming High School from 1990 to 1994, where they earned their High School Diploma with a College Prep focus. Mary then went on to Northern Michigan University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting.
