Nick Bent FRSA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Nick is currently the Chief Executive Officer at upReach, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to that, Nick served as a Member of the Advisory Board for the Children's Commissioner for England from 2020. Nick is also a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) since 2018. Additionally, Nick was a 2017 Fellow at Clore Social Leadership.

Nick'sprevious roles include serving as a Director and Trustee for Oasis Community Learning since 2008 and Chair of Governors for Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in Salford. Nick is also known as the Co-Founder and CEO of The Tutor Trust, a successful education charity that they started in 2011. Nick held the role of Co-Founder and CEO until 2023.

Furthermore, Nick has experience in the political realm, having been a Parliamentary Candidate for the Labour Party from 2010 to 2015. Nick also worked as an Editor at Ten Alps Publishing from 2011 to 2013. At the start of their career, Nick served as a Special Adviser to Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they chaired the Board of Directors for blacc ltd, a technology-focused organization, from 2018 to 2022.

Nick Bent FRSA attended The Manchester Grammar School from 1981 to 1989, where they studied Modern Languages (French and German) and Modern History. Nick then went on to earn a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Oxford's Magdalen College, graduating in 1993. In 1996, Nick attended the Harvard Kennedy School, obtaining a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree by 1998. In 2017, they became a Fellow at Clore Social Leadership.
