J Scott

J Scott is a seasoned real estate professional and investor with extensive experience in property acquisition and redevelopment. As a General Partner at Bar Down Investments LLC since June 2019, J Scott specializes in purchasing and repositioning large multi-family real estate assets, contributing to the company's ownership of over 1000 units valued at over $140 million in the southern and southeastern United States. Co-founding ScottBuilt in May 2008, J Scott has led the firm in completing over 400 construction and redevelopment projects, managing approximately 60 single-family properties and facilitating numerous additional transactions totaling over $60 million. In addition to real estate, J Scott serves as an Early Stage Angel Investor focusing on the PropTech sector and has held advisory roles, including with BiggerPockets and Doorvest. J Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Business Administration from San José State University.
