Betty Tang

Betty Tang has a long and varied work experience. Betty began their career in 2009 as a Community Relations employee at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. In 2012, they moved to Ernst & Young as a Staff Accountant, where they optimized provincial film and television production tax credits and ensured GAAP accordance of financial statements for Canadian and US media and entertainment companies. In 2014, they joined Kearney as a Consultant, where they focused on strategy, operations, and organization for leading firms across technology, media, telecommunications, financial services, automotive, industrial machinery, and manufacturing. In 2016, they moved to McKinsey & Company as a Consultant, where they focused on strategy, organizational design, and digital transformation for leading global private and public sector institutions. In 2020, they joined Yale University as a Teaching Assistant and Fellow, where they supported several professors across the Program on Entrepreneurship. Betty currently serves as the Founder of Upright, where they make delicious food that's better for people and our planet.

Betty Tang began their education in 2009, when they attended The University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting & Sustainability and Social Impact in 2014. In 2011 and 2012, they studied International Management at The University of Manchester. In 2018, they began their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Yale School of Management, with a concentration in Management Science, which they completed in 2021. In 2019, Betty also obtained a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from Cornell University. Additionally, in 2021, they obtained a Green Belt in Management Excellence & Lean Six Sigma from Optness Institute.
