Derek Johnson

Derek Johnson is an experienced Buildings and Systems Engineering Manager at UPS, overseeing the Ontario Air Hub BaSE department since June 2004. With a robust background in plant engineering, Derek has held various managerial positions, including Automation Manager, where responsibilities included optimizing automated equipment performance, and Plant Engineering Manager for the Ontario Ground Hub, managing a diverse team and a significant budget. Prior roles include Lead Plant Engineering Supervisor and South California District Plant Engineering Supervisor, focusing on compliance, training, and asset protection projects. Derek has also managed environmental programs for the West Region and executed building maintenance across multiple hubs. Prior to UPS, Derek completed an internship as an Environmental Health Specialist at San Bernardino County and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from California State University-San Bernardino.
