Tim Davenport

Tim Davenport has over 20 years of experience in various roles in the software engineering and IT industry. Tim'smost recent position was as a Senior Software Engineer at KrakenFlex, a subsidiary of Octopus Energy Group. Prior to that, they held the same role at Octopus Hydrogen.

Before joining Octopus, Davenport worked as a Solutions Architect at Sky Betting & Gaming, where they were responsible for high-level design in the Promotions and Customer Experience domains. Tim'sresponsibilities included working with technologies such as Salesforce, Kafka/Streams, Kubernetes, and Scala.

Davenport also has experience in the charity sector, having worked at StepChange Debt Charity. Tim'sroles there included Cloud Architect, System Architect, Lead Developer, and Lead Application Support Developer. Tim was involved in project work, daily stand-ups, code mentoring, and architectural design, as well as supporting system and user acceptance testing.

Early in their career, Davenport worked at Grass Roots as a Senior Analyst Programmer and Analyst Programmer. Tim was involved in the design and implementation of an events management system for a global pharmaceutical company. Tim also worked on various modules, including stock management for the London 2012 Olympics, payment modules for credit card payments, and an in-house system for handling vehicle recalls.

Prior to their career in the software industry, Davenport served in the Royal Air Force as an Airman. Tim was trained as a Telecommunications Operator and was responsible for the maintenance and development of classified RAF intranet sites.

Tim Davenport completed their secondary education at Pyhäselkä Secondary School from 1994 to 1997. Tim then attended Joensuu College of Further Education in Finland from 1997 to 2000, where they studied catering.

In addition to their formal education, Tim has obtained several certifications. In November 2018, they became an AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate. In February 2019, they earned the certification for AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate. Tim also became an Associate Cloud Engineer with Google in August 2019. In April 2019, Tim achieved the certification for AWS Certified Developer Associate.

Tim expanded their certifications further in 2020. In June, they earned the title of The Open Group Certified: TOGAF® 9 Certified. Tim then obtained the certifications for AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert from Microsoft, both in July 2020.
