Paul Osenar

Paul Osenar has a diverse work experience in the energy and technology sectors. Paul is currently the President and CEO of Upstart Power, Inc., a company focused on the commercialization of distributed fuel cells. In this role, they oversee the development of energy sources with high reliability and low emissions.

Paul has also served as a Board Member for Consolidated Sterilizer Systems since April 2020. As part of an independent board of directors, they contribute to advancing the company.

Prior to their current roles, Paul worked at Protonex for over 17 years. Paul started as the Founder and Technical Lead, where they developed the initial business plan and raised funds. Paul then became the President and CEO, overseeing all operations and functions and maintaining the technical and intellectual property leadership role. Paul later transitioned to the role of CTO, taking responsibility for the technical direction and patent portfolio. During their tenure at Protonex, Paul worked closely with investors to hire a CEO.

Before their time at Protonex, Paul was a Project Engineer at Foster-Miller Inc., where they worked on government-funded projects in various areas, including fuel cell membrane development and nanocomposite materials synthesis.

Additionally, Paul has served as a Board Member for StannTron, contributing to the company's strategic direction.

Paul Osenar completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science & Engineering at Cornell University from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued further education and obtained their Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1992 and 1997.
