Isaias Chaves is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and will transition to a Senior Research Scientist role at Upstart in 2024. Previously, Chaves served as a Consultant for the World Bank, analyzing governance and political economy constraints in post-conflict Sierra Leone. Their early research experience includes a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Harvard University and contributions to economic history and development projects. Chaves holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Harvard University.
