Philip Shing is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in capital markets analytics and structured finance. Currently serving at Upstart since March 2024, Philip specializes in modeling private consumer credit transactions and negotiating complex risk capital deals. As a Tournament Poker Pro and Coach since March 2021, ranking in the Top 30 on the Global Player Index, Philip co-founded a successful $4 million ML-driven poker analytics startup. Previously, at Guggenheim Partners, Philip held the position of Director in Structured Finance, leading significant modeling efforts for a $60 billion secured lending spinout and raising $500 million in institutional equity investments. Other notable roles include Quantitative Risk Manager at BlueMountain Capital Management and Structured Lending Associate at Citi, where Philip contributed to modeling and risk analysis for substantial lending operations. Philip's academic credentials include an MS in Computational Finance and an MBA in Economics and Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, along with ongoing studies for an MS in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Texas at Austin.
