Paul Garcia

Paul Garcia is a Senior Software Developer at Upstream. Paul has also been a Co-Founder at Andino DAO and a Startup Coach at Impact Startup Competition UNMSM. Prior to joining Upstream, Paul was with Rethink Urban Design as their Chief Executive Officer. There, they led a cross discipline team to kickstart the global age of reconstruction. Paul was also engaged in community outreach to host design festivals that attracted partners from all sectors both government and private. Additionally, Paul produced video content to educate people on the importance of taking part of urban development and created partnerships with schools to help gear students to a new revenue stream. Paul developed a platform using React, node, postgres and deployed on GCP while at Rethink Urban Design.

Before Rethink Urban Design, Paul worked as a Software Engineer at Cruise Automation where they helped launch the driverless revolution by creating solutions around fleet management at scale using React and Nodejs deployed on GCP with k8 . Paul'smain project there was a fleet management tool that translated robot's need to human action. Paul was able to reduce the codebase while delivering more features. Paul was also responsible for a number of patents relating to the automation of driverless fleet management tools. In addition to their engineering work, Paul lead a LatinX ERG where they planned events both inside and out the office to bring more awareness to culture and issues that affected them.

Prior to Cruise Automation, Paul worked as a Software Engineer at Dashride.

Paul Garcia has a Bachelor of Science and an Associate of Applied Science from the New York Institute of Technology in Information Technology and Accounting respectively. Paul also has an Associates of Applied Science in Accounting from Queensborough Community College.
