Billy Chang

Billy Chang is a Senior Software Engineer currently at Uptick since April 2020, with extensive experience in mobile application development and engineering. Prior roles include Senior Software Engineer at iflix, contributing to the platform's performance for 15 million monthly users, and Senior Mobile Developer at Bilue, where Billy led the development of notable applications such as Stan’s Android TV app and MoneyBrilliant, later acquired by AMP. Earlier experience includes senior roles at George Patterson Y&R and Visual Jazz, where Billy developed applications for prominent brands. As a co-founder of ThinkingCactus Ltd., Billy took on multiple roles, from System Architect to UX Designer, while also conducting research at HIT Lab NZ for a master’s thesis focused on immersive virtual characters. Educational background includes MSc studies in Immersion and Computer Science from HIT Lab NZ and the University of Canterbury, and a BSc.(Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Otago.
