William Chan

William Chan has been working in the digital marketing and search engine optimization industry since 2012. William began their career as an Event Specialist at MacEwan Conference and Events in 2012. In 2017, they became the Director of Marketing & SEO Specialist at Shim Law, where they successfully placed the firm in the Top 10 on SERP for 7 valuable keywords in the highly competitive legal industry, increased monthly clicks and web traffic by 950%, and redesigned the entire website using CMS to further increase user experience and increase conversions by 100%. William also created a keyword planning strategy dedicated for content creation for every webpage on Shim Law and reduced the bounce rate from 75% to 35%. Additionally, they implemented external marketing strategies to enhance B2B relationships and gain valuable backlinks to increase domain trust/domain authority. In the same year, they also began working as a Freelance Digital Marketing Specialist, managing and optimizing AdWords accounts, building SEO optimized WordPress sites with YOAST, using analytics to assess visit behaviour and make adjustments to paid campaigns and organic search strategies based on consumer trends, and implementing lead capture and email marketing campaigns. In 2018, they worked as an SEO Specialist at both Inbound Interactive Inc and Inbound Law Marketing. Currently, they are the Search Engine Optimization Team Lead and Search Engine Optimization at Uptime Legal Systems.

William Chan attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 2010 to 2012. William then attended the University of Calgary from 2012 to 2016, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). In October 2017, they obtained two certifications from Google, Social Marketing Tools: a Google AdWords Display Certification and a Google AdWords Search Certification.
