Hien Pham Thu

Head of Risk at Upvest

Hien Pham Thu is the current Head of Risk at Upvest. Hien previously worked as a Market Risk Methodology Developer at Deutsche Bank from November 2012 to June 2021. Hien also worked as a PhD in Statistics and Econometrics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from October 2012 to January 2018, where they did credit risk calibration based on CDS spreads and taught in statistics. Other previous positions include an internship at Odewald KMU Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH in August 2010 and a student research assistant position at Fraunhofer ISI from August 2009 to July 2010. Hien also has experience as a trainee at DZ Bank from November 2010 to October 2012 and an intern in the risk controlling department at DZ BANK AG from April 2009 to June 2009. Her first internship was in the financial planning department at Porsche from April 2008 to October 2008.

Hien Pham Thu completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Statistic and Econometrics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, a Diplom in Industrial Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and an ERASMUS year in Finance and Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy.
