Frank Yang

Frank Yang is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in machine learning and engineering across several top-tier companies. Currently serving as Vice President of Machine Learning at Upwork since June 2024, Yang previously held significant roles including Director of Engineering at Uber, where oversight of Search, Recommendations, and Personalization for UberEats occurred, and VP of Applied Machine Learning at Postmates. Yang also contributed to Airbnb as Engineering Lead of Machine Learning at Marketplace Dynamics, leading teams to develop dynamic pricing systems. Previous positions include Head of Intelligence Platform at DiDi, Engineering Manager at LinkedIn, and Senior Architect at Walmart Global Tech. Yang's career began with a focus on research, having served as an Assistant Professor at City University of New York and as a Research Scientist at ESRI. Yang holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Intelligent Transportation Systems and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, along with a Bachelor of Engineering from Tsinghua University.
