Ural Oil and Gas has been operating within the Fedorovsky Block located administratively in the West-Kazakhstan Oblast. The Project Shareholders are NC KazMunayGas, MOL Group and First International Oil Company (subsidiary of Sinopec, Chinese petroleum company). Exploration at the Fedorovsky Block started in 2000. Tectonically, the Fedorovsky Block is confined to the northern flank of the Caspian depression, in the area of its junction to the Volga-Ural anticlise. The Rozhkovsky oil, gas and condensate field was discovered within the Block in 2008. Administratively, the Rozhkovsky Field is located within the Baiterek District, West-Kazakhstan Oblast, 70 km north-east of Uralsk. The Rozhkovsky Field is on the right bank of the Ural, whereas Chebotarevo, Petrovo and Khamino vilages are located on the territory thereof. The majority of the field is occupied by agricultural land, forest and shrub cover is confined to river valleys and artificial forest plantations. The road network consists of a system of highways, mud and country roads, which are used to communicate between villages.
