Dr. Koppula Kamalakar Rao

Dr. Koppula Kamalakar Rao is a seasoned professional in the uranium mining industry, currently serving as the Deputy General Manager at Uranium Corporation of India Ltd since July 2023, overseeing safety across all eight mines. Prior to this role, Dr. Rao held the position of Head ISO at Uranium Corporation of India Limited Jaduguda from May 2002 to October 2023, where responsibilities included managing underground metalliferous mining operations. Dr. Rao also gained initial experience as a trainee at Indal in early 2002. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Mining Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, completed between November 2014 and December 2020, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mining from the same institution, earned in 2001. Early education took place at Deepika E.M. School in Rourkela from 1981 to 1995.
