Urban Engineers
From Conway, Pennsylvania, Eric is quite an active fellow. When he’s not designing the airports of our future, he’s either getting his early AM workout in (Eric is an avid runner with one full and a handful of half marathons under his belt), taking his kids to soccer practice, or helping them with their homework. But his grind doesn’t stop at home, Eric has a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Bucknell University and a master’s in engineering from The University of Maryland. Eric’s life motto is “work hard, play hard,” and it definitely shines through in both his personal and professional lives.
Mr. DeDominicis attributes his success to his focus, transparency, pride in producing quality work, and his many mentors at Urban. In the airport group alone, Eric notes being fortunate to have worked closely with three airfield engineers with over 40 years of experience each (shout outs to Jack Martins, Bob McCracken, and Dave Benner), all who have imparted their invaluable wisdom through lessons learned. Everyday, Eric uses their shared knowledge to continue Urban's reputation as a “go-to” resource for aviation clients.
What is the biggest challenge for Eric? The unknown associated with projects; that is, the unknown issues and challenges that arise during design that can impact project budgets or schedules. Good thing Eric is well experienced, and always rises to the occasion to approach these issues with flexibility and creativity.
