VP & Office Manager Hartford, CT at Urban Engineers

A Vice President and Office Manager, Jason L. Cardinal, PE, is responsible for the operation and management of the Hartford, Connecticut office in addition to overseeing strategic pursuits in the New England Region.

With over 19 years of industry experience, Jason has expertise in all phases of constructing highways, bridges, and other transportation facilities. Through this experience, he’s been able to strike the cooperative balance between design and construction, having worked for both heavy civil contractors and consultant engineers. This mindset has come in handy during his work for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Amtrak, Metro North and CTDOT, as well as other State, municipal and private sectors. His skills within the office and in the field serving as Resident Engineer on some of the largest projects in the region including the ConnDOT Ctfastrak Contracts, a multi-million dollar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) expansion initiative.

When he’s not spending his time monitoring the construction of projects that commuter’s dream about, he enjoys spending time with his family and taking advantage of all of the seasonal activities. That means ice fishing in the winter, running a 5k or ATV’ing in the mountains of New Hampshire in the spring, kayaking or camping in the summer, and enjoying football and hiking in the fall.

A Professional Engineer registered in three states and former licensed Building Official in Connecticut, he earned his master’s in technology management from Central Connecticut State University and his bachelor’s in civil engineering with a transportation concentration from the University of Connecticut.
