Kenya Vera serves as the Urban Agriculture Coordinator and Educator for the North Lawndale Youth Farm at the Chicago Botanic Garden/Windy City Harvest since April 2022. In addition, Kenya holds the titles of Horticulturist, Managing Partner, and Agriculture Teacher at DuSable City Ancestral Winery and Vineyards since December 2018, focusing on community wellness and agroforestry through Elderberry cultivation. Kenya has experience in program and curriculum development as a Site Manager and Instructor with Urban Growers Collective, enhancing food access for underserved families. Previously, Kenya was Co-Creator and Chair for Produce in Protest, establishing collaborations among urban farmers and food systems advocates. With a background in community healthcare, Kenya's education includes a B.S. in Psychology from Southern University and various certifications in sustainability and health training.
