Andrea Iglesias

Andrea Iglesias has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Andrea is currently the CEO/Executive Director of Urban Health Partnerships Incorporated, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving physical, mental, and social health through policy, systems, and environmental changes. In this role, Andrea leads various health initiatives and projects focused on community development, access to healthy food, and age-friendly efforts.

Prior to their current position, Andrea co-founded and worked as a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant and Trainer at the North Star Project. Andrea also served as the Assistant Director for Outreach and Liaison Programming at the University of Virginia's Counseling and Psychological Services, where they oversaw the development and implementation of outreach and community-based services. In addition to their administrative duties, they provided therapy, consultation, training, and prevention services in areas such as diversity and inclusion, wellness, and community consultation.

Andrea has also worked as a Licensed Psychologist in private practice, providing therapy services to adolescents and adults in English and Spanish. Their specialties included a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, multicultural counseling, personal growth, and life transitions. Andrea also conducted immigration evaluations.

Prior to their private practice, Andrea held a managerial role at Counseling and Psychological Services in CU Boulder, where they managed outreach services, led the outreach team, and was involved in budget management, fundraising, and leadership team responsibilities. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as a Psychological Intern at San Diego State University and as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist at the Jane Westin Center in San Diego, CA.

Overall, Andrea Iglesias has an extensive background in both clinical and organizational roles, with a focus on promoting health equity, diversity and inclusion, and community-based services.

Andrea Iglesias pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida, completed from 2002 to 2005. Subsequently, they attended Alliant International University from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. In 2013 and 2014, Andrea pursued a Leadership and Management Certificate at the University of Colorado Boulder. Currently, they are furthering their education in Organizational Development at the University of Virginia, starting in 2016.
