Michael Onwuchuruba is a UX Designer and Community Engagement Manager at Urban Impact Seattle since November 2024, leveraging user research methodologies to enhance digital interactions for both Urban Impact and its entrepreneurial community. Michael also serves as a UX Researcher for Blacks In Technology, focusing on design strategy and member engagement, and has held roles such as Design & Experience Lead at Mentor Me Collective, overseeing UX/UI design and strategy for an educational tech nonprofit. A background in medical technology and research, combined with a recent Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction + Design from the University of Washington, complements expertise in user-centered design and community engagement initiatives across various organizations.

Our Mission: To break the cycle of social, material and spiritual poverty and build healthy communities. Our Vision: All people reconciled with God, where everyone is engaged and thriving in community. Our Approach: We believe individual and community transformation requires a relational and holistic approach. Therefore, we engage neighbors and meet needs in our community, which provide pathways to develop authentic relationships. We work in five Program Areas: • Neighborhood Transformation • Youth development • Economic Development • Health and Wellness • Reconciliation In delivering our programs, we operate through two models: • Community Development Hubs: Program hubs located at churches and focus on children, youth, and engaging their families. • Community Development Initiatives: Initiatives address systemic issues of poverty and provide opportunity for the broader community to engage in community development together.
