Christian Schmid

Christian Schmid currently serves as a Global Governing Trustee at the Urban Land Institute since July 2023. Schmid has been a Member of the Board of Managing Directors at Helaba since October 2017, overseeing several business units within Real Estate Finance, including Debt Capital Markets and Sales Management, as well as managing subsidiaries GWH and OFB. Prior to Helaba, Schmid held significant roles, including Head of Business and Syndication Management at Aareal Bank from November 2012 to September 2017, and held various leadership positions at Eurohypo AG from September 2002 to October 2012, focusing on Debt Capital Markets and Syndication. Schmid's career began at Deutsche Bank in February 1989, where roles included several senior positions in Corporate and Investment Banking until September 2002.
