Seth Hill

Seth Hill is currently a Data Analyst at Urban SDK. Seth has previously worked as a Data Analyst - Operational Excellence at Allstate Benefits from May 2018 to May 2021 and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Central Florida from August 2012 to April 2015.

Seth has always had a passion for data and analytics. Seth pursued this interest by obtaining a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida. After graduation, Seth worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, conducting research on thin film and nano devices. Seth was also responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and implementing experimental data findings to establish, streamline, and document novel manufacturing processes for thin film nanodevices. During their time at the University of Central Florida, Seth also helped draft patents for novel processes for fabricating vanadium oxide thin films.

In May 2018, Seth began working as a Data Analyst - Operational Excellence at Allstate Benefits. In this role, they were responsible for creating role specific inventory reports, continuous improvement dashboards, and other requested custom business reports on demand. Seth utilized Excel Macros, Tableau, Microsoft SQL, Power BI, and Python Data Science Packages to wrangle, clean, sort, analyze, and present business data in an automated fashion. The reporting that they produced helped revamp the culture to be more data centric and automated, saving groups and individuals countless hours and dollars through the creation and automation of strategic business reports.

In May 2021, Seth began working as a Data Analyst at Urban SDK. In this role, they are responsible for analyzing data to help improve urban living conditions. Seth is also responsible for developing new ways to collect data and for developing new methods for analyzing and visualizing data.

Seth Hill's educational career includes a Data Science Career Track from Springboard, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Seth also has a certification from Coursera in Robotics: Computational Motion Planning and a certification from Coursera in Machine Learning.
