Micah Kotch's work experience begins with their role as a Business Development Executive at Gameloft from 2001 to 2004. Micah then co-founded and served as a Strategic Director at Design In Kind from 2007 to 2009. After that, they worked as a Strategic Consultant at Pratt Institute from 2007 to 2009. Micah then joined Polytechnic Institute of NYU, where they held various positions including Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Resilient Economy (NYC ACRE) from 2009 to 2014.
In 2014, Micah joined NYSERDA as the Director of NY Prize and Strategic Adviser for Innovation, where they led the design and execution of the first-in-the-nation $40 million NY Prize competition. Micah also played a key role in the inter-agency NYS Community Partnership initiative and worked on 12 REV Demonstration projects focused on transforming the State's electric power infrastructure.
In 2016, Micah became the Managing Director at URBAN-X, a startup accelerator initiative within the BMW Group. Micah was responsible for launching the initiative, leading partnerships with venture accelerator fund SOSV, and identifying new commercial opportunities and developing concepts.
Micah then became a Founding Partner at Join C3 in 2021 before taking on the role of Partner at Blackhorn Ventures in 2022. At Blackhorn Ventures, Micah has raised three funds and managed investments across 60 early-stage technology companies.
In addition to their role at Blackhorn Ventures, Micah has served as a Board Observer at RailVision Analytics since 2022 and at Specifx Data since 2023.
Micah Kotch received a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies from Colgate University, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. Prior to their time at Colgate University, Micah attended Packer, where they pursued education but did not obtain a degree.
