Fatima Ahmed started their work experience as a Software Engineer Intern at SwahiliBox in July 2017. fatima then worked as a Software Developer at Softtech from September 2017 to June 2018. In July 2018, they returned to SwahiliBox as a Software Engineer Intern, where they developed a Ruby on Rails web app and led a team in a game jam. fatima then joined Rails Girls Mombasa as an Organizer in August 2017. In November 2019, they became a Technical Support Engineer at Microverse until October 2020. fatima worked as a Back End Developer at Wasoko from October 2020 to April 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Software Engineer at UrbanBound starting in January 2022. Additionally, Fatima had internship experiences at X-Team and SwahiliBox, where they worked as a Software Engineer Intern for a short period of time in 2020.

Fatima Ahmed completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University from 2014 to 2019. Following that, they pursued software development studies at Microverse from 2019 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, Fatima also obtained various certifications in subjects such as Learning Java, Business Ethics, Communication Foundations, Developing Your Emotional Intelligence, Giving and Receiving Feedback, How to Use LinkedIn Learning, and Succeeding in a New Job from LinkedIn, with the most recent certification obtained in April 2021.
