Moorea Brega is the Director of Data Science at UrbanFootprint. Moorea has over 9 years of experience in the field of data science.

Moorea started their career as a VP of Data Science at Premise Data. There, they did research involving Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling of a high dimensional probability space. After two years, they moved to The Climate Corporation as their Director of Data Science. There, they oversaw the data science team and was responsible for the company's data analytics and engineering.

In January 2019, Moorea left The Climate Corporation to join Pattern Ag as their Head of Data Science. Pattern Ag uses Next Generation Sequencing to identify the fungi, bacteria and insects present in agricultural fields. By connecting soil microbial communities with agricultural outcomes like crop yield and health, Pattern helps farmers better manage their soil health and prevent losses from the most damaging row crop pests and diseases. As an early leader of the company, Moorea took on ownership of data engineering and analytics, supported MVP development and scaled the company's science and sales capabilities.

Moorea is currently the Director of Data Science at UrbanFootprint. In their current role, they are responsible for leading the data science team and driving data-driven decision making across the company.

Moorea Brega has a PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. Moorea also has a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado.

They work with Judd Macrae - VP, Finance, Daniel Phung - COO, and Ben Busse - Director, Product. Moorea Brega reports to Joe DiStefano, CEO & Co-Founder. Some direct reports include Varun Bhargava - Data Scientist, Jennifer Holt - Lead Data Scientist, and Dhruvi Kothari - Solutions Data Analyst.
