Sharon W.H. Ling completed their B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Asian Studies (Minor) from Mount Holyoke College in 2012. Sharon W.H. then went on to pursue a Masters in City & Regional Planning and Civil Engineering (Transportation Systems Engineering) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2021.
