Roney Lima, M.Sc, MBA, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and materials handling sectors. Currently serving as the West District Manager for Closure Americas at Rio Tinto, Roney Lima leads a team focused on risk-informed closure strategies for mining legacy assets across the Western U.S. Previous roles include managing complex cleanup and closure projects, overseeing capital projects for the Borates and Lithium division, and contributing to significant feasibility studies for international projects. With a strong educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Project Management, Roney Lima has demonstrated expertise in operational readiness, engineering management, and team leadership throughout a diverse career at prominent companies including Vale and Alcoa.
