Saliha Nelson, EdD, currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami in the Department of Educational and Psychological Services, School of Education and Human Development. In addition, Saliha has been the Chief Executive Officer of Urgent, Inc. since January 2019 and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Urgent Academy, a private career and technical education middle school set to open in fall 2024. As the President and CEO of Grassroots Changemakers, LLC, Saliha conducts training and workshops focused on leadership development, youth advocacy, and non-profit management. Saliha holds a Doctorate of Education in Applied Learning Sciences from the University of Miami and has advanced degrees in Community and Social Change and Social Policy and Education from the same institution and Northwestern University, respectively.
