Steve Smith

Steve Smith has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Steve began their career as the Director of Business Development at Exelis, where they worked from 2012 to 2015. Steve then moved on to Harris Corporation, where they held the roles of Senior Sales Manager and Director of Business Development - Geospatial from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, they joined the Rochester Data Science Consortium as the Vice President, a position they held until 2022. From 2021 to 2022, they served as the Vice President of Business Development and Client Services at FLX AI, Inc. Currently, Steve holds the position of Director of Strategic Government Solutions at Ursa Space Systems, starting in 2022.

Steve Smith completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics at Cornell University from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences at the University of Rochester from 1994 to 1996.
